Accessibility Statement

This is an accessibility statement from ONH: Planning for Good.

Measures to support accessibility

ONH: Planning for Good takes the following measures to ensure accessibility of the Burnham Neighbourhood Plan website:

  • Include accessibility throughout our internal policies.

Conformance status

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA. Burnham Neighbourhood Plan website is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 level AA. Fully conformant means that the content fully conforms to the accessibility standard with some exceptions.

Exceptions

  • Some PDF documents on this website, which were produced by third parties before the WCAG became law, may be inaccessible.
  • Embedded maps on the website may not be fully accessible to all users.

Additional accessibility considerations

Although our goal is WCAG 2.1 Level AA conformance, we have also applied some Level AAA Success Criteria: Images of text, and video, are only used for decorative purposes. Enhanced contrast standards have been applied to text. There is no background audio. As much as possible, use of jargon has been minimised. Common acronyms are explained at least once per page.
